MORNINGS: Youth Group Bible Study

9:30 AM

FBCL Room 135

While there were a handful of good kings who attempted to turn people’s hearts back to God, the story of 1 and 2 Kings is ultimately one of a nation falling from grace because of their selfish choice to reject the God of their ancestors and embrace the worship of idols instead. Thankfully, however, this isn’t the end of their story.

This study of First and Second Kings look forward to future grace and the coming of the one truly good and faithful King, Jesus Christ, who will redeem God’s people and heal their failures

EVENINGS: Youth Group Discipleship

6:00–7:00 PM

FBCL Room 131

The Daniel Dilemma

Christians today face a dilemma: In a world that seems to reject everything we believe, how do we walk closely with God without caving to pressure or alienating those we hope to reach? This study will encourage students struggling with our cultural reality to hold God’s standards high & His grace deep—just as Jesus did, & just as His followers today are called to do.

Growing up in Greenville, Texas, Bart Millard suffers physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his father, Arthur. When Arthur becomes terminally ill, he finds redemption by embracing his faith and rediscovering his love for his son. Years later, Bart's troubled childhood and mended relationship with his dad inspires him to write the hit song "I Can Only Imagine" as singer of the Christian band MercyMe.

Pluggedin Review:

Psalm 145:18 (NLT)  -  The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.

2 Corinthians 4:14 (NLT)  -  We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you.
