SMALL GROUPS Small groups are a great way to connect with others, grow spiritually, and produce fruit. It's in community that God often will encourage & challenge us to move beyond hearing Truth into discovering it for ourselves and appropriating it into our lives.
We offer a variety of groups, from traditional Sunday School and discipleship classes by topics, as well as in-depth Bible studies. Classes range in length, style, day it is taught, time and location – take a look & decide where God would have you!
Join us Sunday Mornings as we gather in smaller group settings, focused around the Word of God! Our Welcome Center in the foyer has a list of Sunday School classes/small groups for all ages. Our team would love to help you find a group!
SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School small groups are available for preschool, children, and adults both at 9:30 & 11:00 AM. Youth Sunday School meets at 11:00 after the 9:30 Worship. This is time to be encouraged, as we study Scripture together and enjoy the time of connection with other like-minded peers! Stop by the Welcome Center to find the right group for you!
SENIOR ADULT GATHERINGS
We are an active group focused on ministering to others around us. You might find us gathering/distributing food to a local food bank, making home and hospital visits, praying with someone in a nursing/retirement home, or just enjoying fellowship together at one of our outings. We would love to have you join us for Sunday School, or for one of THESE regular outings!
SENIOR ADULT POTLUCK
Join us the fourth Thursday of every month at noon in the Community Room for a potluck lunch and an interesting program. Just bring your favorite hot dish, salad or dessert and big appetite!
SENIOR ADULT LUNCHEON On the second Thursday of every month at 1:15, we meet at the Old Country Buffet in the Lakewood Towne Center for a no-host lunch and a time of great fellowship.
JAPANESE MINISTRY Each week we have Sunday School taught in Japanese at 9:30 & 11:00 AM. This allows the option of attending either our traditional or modern service while still being able to enjoy this time of fellowship & teaching.
We also meet twice a month for Bible study in our native language. If this sounds like a good fit, come check it out the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month at 10 AM.
WATCHMAN PRAYER Sunday evenings after church, we have a time of prayer for current concerns and needs, including soldiers deployed, missionaries, our world, leadership and many other topics. Anyone who would like to participate is welcome! We rotate into different homes each week, announcing the location during the evening service. If you are interested in hosting, let us know and we will see what is still available!
CHOIR If you can make a joyful sound to the Lord, we may have just the place for you! Our choirs are always on the lookout for people that love the Lord and enjoy singing. We have preschool (4yr - K), children (1 - 6 grade) as well as adult (youth - adult) choirs. One of these may be just perfect for you!
The Blessing Brigade is a ministry that supports and encourages deployed service members and their families. The Brigade is comprised of First Baptist families who seek to share the love of Christ by expressing care and concern for deployed service members and their families through specific prayer, organized helps, and on-going encouragement.
Each week a deployed service member from our First Family is recognized and prayer, letters, cards and a Blessing in a Box are sent his/her way. The family is also supported with a Blessing in a Bag and other Blessings as applicable. Do you want to be a part of this dynamic ministry? If you would like to be part of this ministry, providing an occasional "blessing" to help cheer those who sacrifice and give so much, we would love to hear from you! Let us know you are interested!
First Touch is a group of ladies that meets the first Tuesday of each month in a group member's home. This is a time of fellowship as they work on projects for the tiniest additions - our newborn babies. This group seeks to be that first touch of love this little one receives through their handmade gifts!
Whether you quilt, knit, crochet, sew - you are welcome to join us. Often we are blessed with supplies and abilities to move beyond church members - blessing family, friends and others we become aware of within our community. You & the talent you share would certainly be welcome! Help us show the love of Jesus first hand, through First Touch - contact Alice Brooks for details on current meeting location.

Deep down, everyone wants to make a difference. But it is difficult for students to get past their own issues, problems, and distractions to see that their lives can count right now.
These sessions will offer Biblical insight into how God has uniquely created us with certain passions, talents, and interests to impact the world for Christ. We will hear from students as they share real-life stories on how they’ve spoken up, stepped out and made a difference around them.
